AUTOMATE SMALL BATCH WELDING WITH INSTANT ROBOT PROGRAMMING
Welding small batch sizes efficiently has always been a challenge due to the high programming effort required. Traditional Teach-In programming takes approximately 180 minutes, making automated welding impractical for low-volume production. However, with the Instant Robot Programming System (IRPS) and QIROX RoboScan, welding programs can now be generated in just 15 seconds, making automation viable even for batch size 1.
The process is simple: The operator places the tacked workpiece on the robot workstation, and the mounted scanner captures a 3D model of the component. RoboScan then compares this model with its extensive database and automatically generates a complete welding program, including all welding data. The program is then sent to the robot controller, allowing the operator to start welding immediately at the touch of a button.
