Australia represents a unique market place for manufacturing machinery.  Rapid progress in technology and Australia’s relatively small manufacturing base means that each machine type/brand and model is only sold in small volumes. Therefore even factory trained technicians do not enjoy the luxury of working on and sourcing parts for the same machine type, brand and model day in and day out.   Many machines are a sophisticated combination of multiple technologies e.g mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and computer controls etc. and until the Service Engineer arrives on site he is often unaware in which area the problem will be.

Given the size and dispersal of these products a return to base policy for warranty and service is not feasible.  Our service engineers visit you and our terms and conditions reflect the challenges of this.

Service Personal
Specialist Machinery Sales is a National Company that represents some of the region’s major suppliers of machine tools and sheet / fabrication equipment.  Often new machinery will be installed and commissioned by the various factories installation engineers.   Consequently having such an extensive product range has mean’t that the SMS team has sourced factory trained service technicians that are specialists in their field. Our service team generally have 20+ years experience and continuously focus on staying at the very cutting edge of their specialist technology.

Remote Diagnostics    
The majority of the more sophisticated machinery being installed in Australia have remote diagnostics included with the machine.  This is proving to be very useful for diagnostics on the machine tool and application support from the factory.  The advantages of remote diagnostics is if the factory can determine if parts are required to be sent to your machine so the electronic technician can follow the factory instructions if they cannot be solved remotely from the factory.  Remote diagnostics is also beneficial when there are staff changes and remote application support and training is necessary to ensure your machine capacity is being utilised.
